The event, co-organized by the Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO) and the Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (DG MARE) of the European Commission, brings together the leading institutional actors each year to discuss resilience, competitiveness, and territorial cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thanks to its innovative approach, the project presented its nature-inspired coastal adaptation solutions, established new institutional contacts, and strengthened its position as a leading European initiative in addressing the challenges of climate change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>A European showcase for coastal innovation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project was represented by Juan Manuel Revuelta P\u00e9rez, CEO of <a href=\"https:\/\/finnova.eu\/es\">Fundaci\u00f3n Finnova<\/a>; Pilar Santamar\u00eda, Director of Communication and International Relations at Fundaci\u00f3n Finnova; and Naomie Lecard, Marketing Manager at <a href=\"https:\/\/econcretetech.com\/\">ECOncrete<\/a>, a project partner entity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From the exhibition space, the team presented a nature-based solution inspired by the traditional tidal pools of the Canary Islands to increase the resilience of coastal areas, protect marine biodiversity, and support adaptation to climate change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"478\" height=\"359\" src=\"https:\/\/costadapta.energiagrancanaria.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/image-6.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1952\" srcset=\"https:\/\/costadapta.energiagrancanaria.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/image-6.jpeg 478w, https:\/\/costadapta.energiagrancanaria.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/image-6-300x225.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 478px) 100vw, 478px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Juan Manuel Revuelta P\u00e9rez, CEO of Fundaci\u00f3n Finnova; Pilar Santamar\u00eda, Director of Communication and International Relations at Fundaci\u00f3n Finnova; and Naomie Lecard, Marketing Manager at ECOncrete, during the presentation of the European project.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>A meeting with the leading European officials in maritime cooperation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Macro-Regional &amp; Sea Basin Strategies Days 2026 brought together policymakers, institutional representatives, regions, universities, and European projects to discuss the future of territorial and maritime cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The program included the plenary session &#8220;Creating further synergies among the Macro-regional and Sea Basin Strategies: cooperation potential at the thematic level,&#8221; the institutional panel &#8220;Towards an Atlantic Maritime and Macro-regional Strategy,&#8221; featuring national representatives from Ireland, France, Spain, Portugal, and the Basque Country, and the closing debate led by Hugo Sobral, Deputy Director-General of the Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO) of the European Commission. As Naomie Lecard noted:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/costadapta.energiagrancanaria.com\/\">ECOncrete<\/a> is providing its bio-inoculating concrete technology and proven nature inclusive design concepts [&#8230;].
